Biology students in 4º ESO did a lab practical on yeast fermentation. They had to state a clear research question, formulate a testable hypothesis and explain the hypothesis using scientific reasoning. They put into practice the “Scientific Method”. They needed to investigate what affects carbon dioxide emissions by yeast in fermentation. Students worked in groups and made and took decisions on the method used and how much data was to be collected.
They later turned in the practical for assessment. It was an enjoyable learning experience.
